I’m reposting this picture to help spread the word about something unbelievably disgusting that happened to the tiny amazing girl I have my arm around here, mostflogged.
Obviously I don’t have a lot of followers, so nothing I say is going to carry very far; but something happened to one of my favorite people in the world who also happens to be one of the nicest people I’ve ever met and I feel like I have to say something!
Mostflogged, aka Jenni, was harassed and assaulted for no reason other than she wanted to wear nice clothes that make her feel sexy and chose to defend herself when some fucking assholes tried to make her feel bad about it!
I’m about 5’6”, 130 pounds, and when I got to actually meet my hero Jenni in person one of my first thoughts was “She’s so tiny!”. That picture up there shows just how small that awesome girl is, and some complete waste of a person had the nerve to punch that tiny, wonderful girl (wearing heels no less) in the back of the head.
I don’t think I have to recount the story for people (it is one of the recent posts on her tumblr, @mostflogged, if you wanted to read it). But what I do have to say is that this kind of thing happens every day and that it is sickening.
I have two sisters, my two absolute favorite beings in the entire world, and if what had happened to Miss Flogged happened to them I would probably have beaten the ever loving shit out of the perpetrator. I don’t care that in her story there were 3 or more guys, because I would have bitten off that guys fingers for hitting my sister, regardless of what happened to me.
Anybody that knows me knows I believe in a zen outlook on life, and that good will fill your life only if you commit yourself to good. But awful people like that deserve any and all evil that could possibly come to them.
This sort of idea that it’s okay for men to think of women only as objects for their amusement is NOT okay. Women can actually just wear whatever the fuck they want and go out and shouldn’t be afraid that some terribly raised piece of garbage will notice them and assume that that woman is dressed that way for them.
I wish there was more I could do for my favorite cosplayer and my personal hero, but if anyone at all reads this I hope you’ll take the time to visit Jenni’s tumblr and just send her a supportive message, just so she can feel slightly better about an awful event.
I’m so sorry to every woman that has experienced this type of thing, and that my sex somehow feels entitled to this behavior.
